DepEd Google Drive Files Not Syncing (Desktop/Mobile)

Prepared by Last Revised Mar 6, 2026
Sync issues are common in schools with unstable Wi-Fi or many users on shared PCs.

Causes:
- Poor internet (common in rural DepEd schools)
- Drive for desktop paused/stopped
- Account conflict (multiple DepEd logins or personal Gmail mixed)
- App outdated

Fixes:

Desktop (Drive for desktop / Backup and Sync):
1. Check taskbar icon (cloud) → if paused, click Resume
2. Right-click icon → Preferences → Google Drive → Make sure "Mirror files" or "Stream" is selected
3. Disconnect & reconnect account: Preferences → Settings → Disconnect account → Restart app → Sign in with deped.gov.ph
4. Restart PC and router
5. Reinstall Drive for desktop from https://www.google.com/drive/download

Mobile (Android/iOS Drive app):
1. Open Drive app → Menu → Settings → your DepEd account → Clear cache
2. Force stop app → Reopen
3. Check internet: Switch to mobile data if school Wi-Fi is slow
4. Update app via Play Store / App Store

DepEd edge cases:
- If using school-issued Chromebook → ensure managed by DepEd OU (no personal sync conflict)
- Large files (>100 MB) may take hours on slow connections – be patient

If files still missing:
- Check web version first: drive.google.com
- Search filename in Drive search bar
- Check Trash/Shared with me

Create helpdesk ticket if sync error persists with exact message.
