1. Try a different USB port (front/back, USB 2.0 vs 3.0).
2. Restart your computer completely.
3. Open Device Manager (right-click Start) → expand "Universal Serial Bus controllers" → right-click each USB Root Hub → Uninstall device.
4. Restart PC so Windows reinstalls the drivers.
5. Run the Hardware Troubleshooter: Settings → Update & Security → Troubleshoot → Other troubleshooters → Hardware and Devices.
6. Update chipset and USB drivers from your laptop manufacturer site.
7. Test the device on another computer to rule out hardware failure.
